Risk & Compliance
Last updated: 18 August 2026
This page summarises important risks and how AgriStock handles inventory and investor funds. It complements our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. It is not investment, legal, or tax advice. Have a Nigerian qualified lawyer review before you treat this as a final disclosure pack.
1. What AgriStock is — and is not
- AgriStock is a technology platform for warehouse-linked agricultural lots, portfolio tracking, and Naira wallet flows.
- We are not a bank and wallet balances are platform ledger balances, not insured deposits.
- We are not a licensed stockbroker for NGX cash equities unless separately licensed and disclosed. Global equity quotes (where shown) are informational / order-routing style features and may settle against your Naira wallet under platform rules.
2. Commodity & inventory risk
- Commodity prices move. You can lose money, including part or all of capital allocated.
- Warehouse-backed lots depend on storage partners, quality grading, logistics, and honest inventory reporting. Loss, spoilage, theft, or dispute can affect outcomes.
- Displayed prices and charts may lag or use third-party feeds. Do not treat them as guaranteed executable NGX or OTC prints.
3. Who holds inventory
Physical lots linked to AgriStock positions are intended to sit with contracted warehouses / aggregators disclosed on each listing where available. AgriStock records beneficial economic interest on the platform ledger; title and bailment terms are governed by the listing, warehouse agreement, and applicable law.
If a warehouse fails, AgriStock will work recovery processes disclosed to investors, but recovery is not guaranteed.
4. Payments, withdrawals & fees
- Card and bank payments are processed by Paystack (or successors).
- Withdrawals may take business days and are subject to KYC, fraud checks, and fees.
- Failed or reversed payments may reverse wallet credits.
5. KYC & account controls
We may require NIN/BVN or documents, and may suspend, limit, or refuse accounts for compliance, fraud, or Terms breaches. Suspended accounts cannot trade or withdraw until reinstated.
6. Regulatory posture
Agricultural investing and payment services in Nigeria can touch SEC, CBN, and other regimes depending on structure. Soft-launch features must not be marketed as a licensed collective investment scheme or deposit product unless that status is obtained and stated clearly.
7. Contact
Compliance questions: use in-app Messages / support channels once live, or the contact email published on the Platform.
